The big 0-5

We didn't have a party for Wyatt this year, so I wanted to make a special cake for our family celebration.  I came up with this idea for robot cupcakes based on something I saw online.  They're not perfect, but I think they came out pretty cute.

Wyatt liked them!

Wyatt did really well opening his gifts.  I only wrapped one, and after he tore right into it, I wished I hadn't put the others in bags!  He enjoyed opening sidewalk chalk, a couple of books and a bubble blower.

The weather was so nice, he got to take his bubble blower outside and play with it until it ran out of juice.

He also got a remote-controlled toy train which he loves to play with.  Wyatt did really well with everything until it came time to blow out the candles.  I thought he would blow them out himself this year, but he wanted some help.

  1. I love the cupcakes! So cute. I'm going to post a picture of what I'm doing for the twins. Have you ever heard of "Bake Pops"? I hope my idea works as well as it does in my mind. =]

  3. Yep, same thing. I did a caterpillar for the boys' school class, but D'OH! I forgot to take the picture. It turned out very cute, however. I may have to do the same thing for the birthday celebration on Sunday. I just dipped the cake balls in green-colored white chocolate, made antenna with black licorice laces, used M&Ms for eyes and cut orange jelly slices in half for legs/feet. I did two heads and then the bodies had 7 pops each. I pushed the sticks into blocks of floral foam, far enough down that the "feet" touched the surface. Dang, I wish I had remembered to take a picture!

  4. I love the pictures, I'm so glad to see Wyatt coming along so well. I feel like every time he does something he has net done before it is so satisfying. Keep your chin up Leigh, I think you're a great mom.
