Impatient child . . . or something
Spencer's due date was May 8, but because he is not doing what the doctors want him to be doing (he doesn't move enough for the sensors during my non-stress tests), they've moved his delivery date up by a week. So, on May 1 (at around 11:30) he will be here. Mom mentioned today that it is probably a good thing too, since I am outgrowing all of my maternity clothes! It's a good thing that maxi-skirts are in style because pretty much anything that is not knit is straining to cover my "baby bump". =]

We seem to not be able to do girls
Well, it is official. There is no denying the image on the ultrasound. We are expecting Spencer and not Alia.
And while it is a bit disappointing since I so wanted a little girl, it is in NO way a bad thing. I am excited to raise another sweet boy, who will likely be just as energetic and LOUD as his brothers. You have been warned! =]

New baby is a singleton
Despite Liam's prediction, our new baby is just a single and not twins. While this was a touch of a let-down, it is also a good thing because I certainly don't need to be doing the twins thing again. I'm too old, I think. We'll be finding out if it's a girl (to be named Alia) or a boy (to be named Spencer) on December 19.

Long time, no posts
It's been so long since there has been anything posted here, I thought I would "end the drought" by announcing our news in print. We are expecting a new baby, due May 8th.
This, of course, kind of demolishes the plans we've had for over a year to join the Sampsels in Disneyland for Katie's eighth birthday. When I half-joking mentioned to Brenda that I guessed I'd be carrying a month-old newborn through the park, I'm sure she thought I was certifiable. Yes, the realistic part of me knows that would be insane, but I still wanna go! I know, I know, poor me. I finally get another chance to get the baby girl I want, and I still complain. As Dad says, I'd even complain if I were hung with a new rope!
So anyway, another "high-risk" pregnancy for me, and I'll try to keep everyone up to date on any further developments (like if it turns out to be twins again, as Liam tells me it should be, "so the baby will have someone to grow up with.")

Star of the Week
Last week, Wyatt was the "Star of the Week" in his gen-ed class. We made a poster about him, the things he likes and doesn't like, etc. This week, a little notebook with a letter from each of his classmates came home in his backpack. It was really touching! There were the obligatory misspellings and funny questions, but also some really sweet things that let me know these kids really like our Wyatt. Finding this school for Wyatt has been a consolation prize for having to live so far away from you all.
